Recycled Merchandise for Orlando Weeks

Orlando loved the idea of using second hand products for his tour merch however he was keen to create some kind of uniformity which can be difficult with vintage products. We experimented with tie-dying vintage t-shirts using various techniques but we couldn’t quite get the look Orlando had pictured. He remembered he still had some t-shirts leftover from an earlier tour. He suggested we experimented with these. I loved this idea as the most sustainable item of clothing is the one you already own! We refined the tie-dye technique to make sure we were using low levels of water and non-toxic dye. Once the t-shirts were dyed we embroidered them with a red dot that is used throughout the artwork for Orlando’s album. We had taken his tour merch and brought it into the world of the new album.
Tour Merch game very strong thanks in no small part to the heroics of @katyrosechris ... here’s her extremely hands on process of turning the A Quickening shirts into the HOP UP world.
