Embroidered Vintage Merchandise for Ferna

Hannah Lockhart aka Ferna loved the idea of eco-frinedly emrboidered merchandise for her album promotion. Her album artwork was taken from a painting with thick bright blue and pink brush strokes. We played around with abstracting the brush strokes to create different patterns but it wasn't quite what Hannah had pictured. She had some other designs she had been using for other promotional materials and suggested we tried the zig zag with her name. I used an embroidery technique that creates multiple lines of embroidery that overlap so we still create a textured painterly effect but in a simplified way. I love how this style honors the album artwork but stands out as a distinctive design in it's own right.
Hannah was keen to use vintage products and so we created a range using the colour pallet from the original painting. We also made some pin badges and iron on patches using vintage denim for gig goers who want merch at a lower price point.
Hannah's sweatshirts sold out right away and she ordered a second batch almost immediately!
